The class

over all Psychology was a very interesting class. It was enjoyable to know that Psychology is all around us whether we want to admit it or not. Many of the terms and things we learned were things I have learned in the past. Psychology class was nice to be able to express ourselves through our blogs. We were all able to give our own opinion no matter what it is was. I enjoyed that about the class. As for the tests they were not that bad. I was kind of nervous about failing. In the end I feel that I did alright. The dice rolling was an interesting way to get people to talk. I liked that it was not just about one thing. We were able to choose what ever we found interesting. In many cases we were just suppose to relate something to Psychology which was easy. I liked having the freedom in this class to express my beliefs and not have to go off someone elses.

Not My Type

The process of attribution is when people attribute others behviors to and internal or external disposition. Many people attribute people to a situation. Someone may be quiet in class, but may also be a party animal outside of school. The fundamental attribution error is when the personality is overestimated and the situation is underestimated. people inferring how someone is from if they are friendly or a cold person.
Stereotypeing is making abraod judgement on how or what someone is. Judging a book by its cover you could say. Belief, Religion, Race, Gender are all contributed in the stereotyping world.

Chap 16 personal blog

The chapter is on personality. I read someone else's blog on how their personality could change in a matter of weeks. Well I believe it is true. Before I met Matt my current boyfriend. I was very depressed I hated life, I have had thoughts of suicide. I was a wreck. I didn't try in life at all. I came to school didn't try on homework went home. I hated responsibilities at home. After I started hanging out with Matt something change. I wanted to be a better person. I started trying on homework, I stopped wearing so many black clothes and actually added some pink and purples to my wardrobe. I felt that I wanted to make a difference in my life and maybe someone else's. I never thought I would go to college. I got accepted and will be off next fall. I made A honor roll for the first time in my life this year. I even donated blood a few weeks back. Making these small changes really helped. I feel better about myself. I know I am not the prettiest or smartest girl. But Matt makes me feel like I am. I am a more positive person now. I have talked to others about thoughts of suicide and how it makes you a negative person over all. I am glad I made changes in my life. My personality has changed greatly over the past year. It is funny because me and Matt both attended Flambeau. He graduated in 2008. I sometimes bring up how I used to be and we literally laugh about it. I couldn't believe that I had become that person. What do you all think about how little things can change your life over all? Do you think it is possible? Or do you think that it is something more?

Personality in General

Personality is very interesting. Everyone can have their own definition of what a personality is. Everyone has one. Some may be more dull then others. Some people may not have much to say at all but they still have a personality. Where or how you are raised can effect the development of your personality. Personality is in everyday life. From going out with friends to going to bed at night or waking up. At all times your personality is being shown. When people make a generalization about a person by what that person is wearing that is a good example. How we dress is a way of expressing who we are. I don't think I have really stopped and thought about my personality. I probably have, but didn't really think about it.

Big Five

The big five test was very interesting. It was right on. I am a disagreeable person. I like to have arguments every now and again. It is fun to debate. Some of the things I was nuetral. Like I waas not orgnized or unorganized. I found that interesting. Knowing that there can be a happy meduim in situations. The test did take some time. I did have to stop and think every now and then. The Other test was the same way. It took some time to answer some of the questions. It was kind of cool to find our what the test felt about my personality.

Chap. 13

I found it interesting the fact that when babies always suck on their thumbs it is cute. But the kids that grow up know that is not cool so the may take up smoking. Is still gives the oral pleasure of sucking that they need. I never thought of it like that before.
Inkblots are very interesting to me. When showing people the same image of an inkblot, depending on their personality will decide what they will see in an inkblot. Example: If the person is a serial killer they may see a victim, weapon, or something to that nature. Also how people describe images or pictures projects their inner feelings. They may not notice, but people all have a different way of showing their personality.
about self concept. We all go through the who are we stage. Some people will not admit this. Whether it is sports or what will ou study in school. All these things are choices that our personality could have an effect on. When you ask your self "Who am I" a lot of things come to mind. When we did the 20 Who am I wuestions that is a good example they were all serperate things that describe ourselves but are all who we are as a whole. This Chapter I found very fasinating. We know the idea of find oneself but going deeper into it. Knowing that your environment has an effect on you is a big deal.
